Stress

We often underestimate how much stress can impact our physical and emotional well-being.

“We often feel overwhelmed by external pressures, but that’s okay—it happens to everyone. When we get caught up in our thoughts, negativity can take over and make us anxious. Taking a moment to pause and breathe can help us reset.”

When the fight-or-flight response is triggered, it becomes challenging to stay in control of our emotions. For example, feelings of not being good enough can lead to shame—an emotion that can be difficult to face and manage.

How to Cope with Stress

1.    Recognise the Source
Identify what’s causing your stress—awareness is the first step toward control.

2.    Understand Its Impact
Notice how stress affects your body, mood, and thoughts.

3.    Break It Down
Divide the problem into smaller, manageable parts so it feels less overwhelming.

4.    Share Your Feelings
Talk about what you’re going through with someone you trust.

5.    Build Healthy Habits
Develop coping and behavioural skills that support resilience.

6.    Be Assertive
Learn to say “no.” You protect yourself by setting boundaries rather than becoming resentful when others overstep them.

7.    Stop Procrastinating
Taking action reduces anxiety.
