Giving you the confidence to grow.
Walking in your footsteps
I listen with genuine empathy, taking the time to truly understand your world. By gently stepping into your shoes, I can better appreciate the thoughts and feelings that shape your life.
Together, we’ll explore how you connect with others and how they connect with you. This shared understanding helps us nurture a supportive and trusting therapeutic relationship, where growth and healing can naturally unfold.
My approach.
Person-centred Approach
I believe that you are the expert in your own life and want to understand what matters most to you.
A person-centred approach means:
My choices matter – you decide what feels right for you.
My voice is heard – we listen without judgement.
My goals guide the way – we support you to work towards what’s important to you.
My strengths are valued – we focus on what you can do, not just the challenges you face.
Together, we create a way of being, that focuses on your needs, preferences, and hopes for the future.
Attachment Theory
Attachment styles are primarily formed during infancy and early childhood through interactions with primary caregivers.
These interactions, particularly the caregiver's responsiveness to the child's needs, shape a child's expectations about relationships and influence their behaviour in later life.
Attachment Styles
A secure attachment develops when caregivers are consistently attuned to the child's needs.
Insecure attachment styles (anxious, avoidant, or disorganised) can emerge when caregivers are inconsistent or unavailable.
Transactional Analysis is a way of understanding ourselves and the way we relate to others. It looks at:
How we think, feel, and behave – helping us notice the different sides of our personality.
How we communicate – so we can see the patterns in the way we interact with others.
Our “life script” – the story we started writing in childhood that still influences how we live today.
Many of us repeat old patterns from childhood without realising it. Sometimes these habits cause us stress, conflict, or unhappiness. By becoming aware of these patterns, we gain the choice to change them.
Internal Family Systems (IFS)
IFS is a gentle and compassionate approach that explores the relationship between our core Self and the internalised “parts” of us that are triggered at stressful times in our life. I feel this sits very well with other approaches I provide in my Practice.
We all have parts – the inner critic, the protector, the part that carries pain, or the part that just wants to keep going. Sometimes they clash, leaving us feeling stuck or overwhelmed. IFS helps us listen to these parts with curiosity rather than judgment, so they can soften, heal, and work together more harmoniously.
Many people find this approach helpful for easing self-criticism, making sense of old patterns, and healing the impact of past experiences. At its heart, IFS is about reconnecting with your Self – the calm, compassionate centre that can guide you towards greater balance and self-acceptance.
What you can expect?
Face-to-face and online counselling to help overcome the challenges you are experiencing.
My style encourages open conversation without barriers. Together, we will focus on what has brought you to counselling now and together we will reflect on the issues you are facing.
My goal is to provide you with an individual experience, where perhaps for the first time you feel heard and understood in a safe space, free from judgement.
What is next?
I offer a free 20-minute consultation, which can take place over Zoom or by phone.
This gives us an opportunity to explore what has brought you to counselling and how I may be able to support you. It’s also a chance for you to ask any questions and for me to explain how I work.
If you decide to continue, the next step is a 1-hour initial session. Ongoing sessions will then be 50 minutes each.
You can then decide if my approach feels right for you.
